Training on steroid cycle and its specificity
One of the central factors determining the success of anabolic steroids, without exaggeration, is the reorganization of the training. For the most part, the training program for steroid cycle differs little from the usual training, but there are also some features that will be discussed below.
Rest and rehabilitation
It is obvious that with the use of drugs, the intensity and frequency of training should increase. However, this fact does not mean that you are obliged to exhaust yourself with endless loads every day. In the case of taking steroids, the muscles and your body all also need regular and systematic recovery. Therefore, not only the training program with steroids should be literate, but also rest. So, the optimal option will be the load of a separately taken muscle group once in 4-7 days. To simplify the recovery process, you can create a split-training program, a triple split-training (you must schematically break the muscles into 3 parts and distribute the training of these muscles on different days).
Important: do not forget that recovery is not only a pause between training of certain muscles, but also a healthy sleep. Training with steroids should be combined with sleep lasting from 8 to 10 hours a day. So, you will give enough time to your body and your brain to prepare for future loads.
Features of training with steroids
The first thing to talk about is sets and reps. Their number does not differ from those in the usual training:
Exercises – 2-3 per muscle group;
Sets – 3 for each exercise;
Reps – an average of 6 to 8.
Training on the steroid cycle should last a certain and always a constant amount of time: the optimal duration of training is 1-2 hours. 60-120 minutes is enough to actively work out and activate thereby muscle growth and development on the steroid cycle.
Warm up before training
Many steroids significantly and in a very short time increase your strength and endurance levels, but at the same time the strength of your tendons and cartilage does not change. As a result, there is a risk of injury, and it is quite serious. For this reason, training on steroids should follow only after a thorough warm-up. After all, when getting injured, the effectiveness of your future training and the steroid cycle will decrease. Moreover, if the injury is serious, you can’t return to the usual training for a very, very long time.
High intensity training
The goal of your training with steroids is to create the maximum growth-stimulating effect on muscles. This can only be achieved with the help of a progressive increase in weights and loads.
Starting your training cycle is best from a medium intensity session (your standard training program). And then, taking into account the fact that there were no serious deviations, throughout the whole cycle it is necessary to gradually increase the intensity of training. All your subsequent workouts on steroids should use bigger and bigger weights. Thus, step by step you will be able to achieve the effect of super stimulation of muscles, which in turn will provide permanent muscle growth and development of muscles.
Do not resort to sudden changes in loads from the start of the cycle. In this case, you deprive yourself of the possibility of further progress. In addition, so, you will significantly increase the risk of serious injury. Your training on the steroid cycle should be smooth, one lesson should gradually flow into another with a little more weights and loads. If you give any specific figures, the best option is a 30 percent increase in weights from the beginning of the cycle to its completion.
Training after the steroid cycle and its features
No less important for an athlete than training during the period of using AAS, is training on the completion of the use of steroids. After the reception of steroid preparations, the level of natural testosterone has been significantly reduced in the body of an athlete. If this level can’t be returned to the normal state in a timely manner, then the athlete will simply gradually lose all the muscle mass that it was possible to gain during the AAS cycle.
The first thing that requires training after a steroid cycle is the PCT (post-course therapy). In other words, as soon as you stop taking anabolic medications, immediately begin to reduce the intensity of the stresses and use ancillary drugs, if necessary. Obviously, the higher the intensity, the higher the load on the muscles, and without the use of AAS, high intensity can become a serious problem and can even lead to injuries.
So, it is logical to reduce the load to 70% of their initial value. And the training after the steroid cycle should change during the first week after the end of the drug intake. After two weeks, the intensity should not be more than 50%. Two weeks after stopping the use of AAS, you should reduce the intensity of training loads by twice. Otherwise, powerful catabolic processes will simply destroy your muscles. Increase of the intensity of training after steroids can be approximately four weeks, but not more than 80%. To normal loads, you can return only after 6 weeks.
